Just a solid selection for a holiday in Bampton (Devon) with incredible value for money. The beer was good and it was dog-friendly, which was a nice touch. Bring your own dog bed and a cover if your pup sleeps on the bed.

We felt so at home in this lovely old pub building, which was perfect for a short getaway, and even though I only stayed for one night, I loved the easy walk to Bampton Heritage & Visitor Centre, just about 2 km away, and the beautiful views at Knightshayes Court, just 5.5 km from our stay.

The breakfast was a standout, every choice fresh and beautifully cooked. I mean, we were here for just one night but the food's quality felt like five-star dining and the staff treated us like family, going out of their way to make us feel welcome.
